Dear friends and members of Christian Endeavor,
attached please find the latest issue of the WCEUnews. Technical problems with my e-mail program delayed sending out the newsletter. The advantage of the mishap is that I have the chance now to add some fresh news from CE in Syria: As you may know Syria is suffering from a devastating civil war. Last week WCEU board member Rev. Serop Megerditchian, who lives in Aleppo, the second biggest town in Syria, joined unexpectedly a SKYPE meeting of the WCEU Convention Program Committee. Asked to share how he is doing he reported, that since about one year he is confined to movements in an area of about 1000 m around his house. Their part of Aleppo is surrounded by forces of the Free Syrian Army who do not allow people in and out. Brother Serop reported about a road that is expected to be opened soon which would allow them to move more freely. Despite the hardship of all kinds they are facing, they had a CE Conference about 10 days ago with about 260 old and young endeavorers from the encircled area attending. - So please keep on praying for our sisters and brothers in Syria and also do not forget the suffering church of Christ in other parts of the world. As we enter the lenten weeks let us daily renew our allegiance to our Lord Jesus Christ whose sacrifice we remember especially in those 7 weeks. With kind regards from Germany |
